If all of the chloride in a 5.0 g sample of metal chloride is precipitated as AgCl2<--2 is subscript with 70.9 mL of 0.201 M AgNO3, what is the percentage of chloride in the sample?

the correct answer is 20.20%, how to get there, not a clue, but im trying

.0709L x .201mol AgNO3/1L x 1mol AgCl2/1mol AgNO3 x 2mol Cl/1mol of AgCl2 x 35.5 g Cl/1mol Cl = 1.01g Cl present in AgCl2.

Since the problem states that Cl is completely used, we can assume that the mass of Cl in the metal chloride equals the mass of Cl in AgCl2. -> 1.01g Cl in metal chloride.

% of chloride in the sample = 1.01/5 x 100 = 20.2%
