i forgot which subjects these were, but I believe they were five or six subjects that should be taken in college to prepare for mcats...

physiology and immunology and biochemistry pop into my mind. does anybody know what other important subjects should be taken to help maximize the MCAT score?

I think genetics is one of them.

add organic chemistry and physics.

oh, and if there is a class that involves only reading passages followed by multiple-choice questions, then take that too.

1. General Biology
2. General Chemistry
3. Organic Chemistry
4. General Physics
5. Human Physiology*
6. Genetics*
7. English

*The Vast majority of the Biology portion of the MCAT are composed of Physiology & Genetics. Therefore these courses are much more essential than microbiology, immunology, or biochemistry. The remaining questions on the MCAT can be answered from General Biology knowledge.

add analytical chemistry to the list (I've sat for the MCAT twice, and a-chem has been on both!)

the general chemistry lab can be considered analytical chemistry

i wouldn't recommend taking anything more if you aren't a chem major

nevertheless, i'll add it

1. General Biology (w/ general bio lab)
2. General Chemistry (w/ general/analytical chem lab)
3. Organic Chemistry (lab not essential)
4. General Physics (lab not essential)
5. Human Physiology* (lab not essential)
6. Genetics* (lab not essential)
7. English

Technically, most of the stuff in physical chemistry is beyond the scope of the mcat, but I found it helped to solidify more of the basic stuff in both physics and chem. So, if you're up for it, p-chem!

Molecular biology and microbiology helped a lot.

Definitely physiology, definitely.

Learn how to answer questions. The pre recs should be enough..

how if you don't finish all of general physics by the time you take the MCAT. as for me, it looks like i can only finish 2 quarters while in the 3rd quarter i will be taking the MCAT and physics c. why do i do?
