Two of the schools I'm applying to want a resume. And there's a prompt on PTCAS that also asks for a resume.

What exactly is supposed to be on this 'resume'? I'm utterly confused--do they want to know every unrelated menial job I've had to keep myself afloat whilst taking pre-requisites? Do they want me to rehash my observation and community service hours and everything else that PTCAS has already had me enter? What is this thing supposed to look like/consist of? 😕

There are literally millions of ways to format your resume, and everyone seems to like their own "unique" way. If you want my 0.02, I have mine formatted like a hybrid Curriculum Vitae-resume with a big bold section called "Experience" and then subsets called "Related Experience" (PT job shadows, PT club involvement, any other health related experience you have) and then "Other Experience" (every other job that doesn't go under the "related experience" section--personally I scooped ice cream for a summer at ColdStone so that would be an example of something to put in there). I then do short bullet points that elaborate on the experience.

You can google CV or resume and come up with some suggestions as to what is generally asked for (date format, city names, etc.).

Whatever you do HAVE SOMEONE PROOFREAD your resume! An extra pair of eyes never hurts. 🙂

Good luck the arduous application process!
