What are people doing during the summer between college and medical school (for those of us not taking any time off)? I don't have any plans yet and I feel like summer is just about here. I'm just looking for some fun and interesting summer job/activity ideas.

If I get in, teaching aerobics, translating in a clinic, and getting a tan!

Until then: studying for the MCATS

I also want to do some bartending-it looks like so much fun! And good money!

I'll be working part time as a medical assistant in Ocean City, MD and enjoying everything that comes with that awesome place :)

i was gonna go to europe, but now i have to buy a car and i have only like $1500 saved up. so, that's out of the question. honestly, i think i'll do nothing. my life has been so hectic the past 4 years, on school and on trying to milk the most out of the college "experience," that 2-3 months of relaxing at home on the beach in socali with my buddies sounds the best to me. it's the last breather i'm gonna get for a long long long time.

What's up. I'm not completely sure, but I figure three months of summer. :)

One month: Tie up loose ends on my research.

One month: Travel :D

And one month: Do absolutely nothing.

Take care.

I am backpacking in alaska...but if anyone knows of a place that will hire me for 6 weeks let me know!!! Otherwise I am going to chill with my SO because even though we will be living together next year, I probably will not be seeing them that much

This sounds crazy, but I am taking an automotive internship. For three months, I will be working full time at Delphi automotive. I figured that I could use the money and that I should make some use of my ChemE degree. Next summer, after my first year, I plan on backpacking for a month in Europe.

I graduated last year and then backpacked around Europe (I highly suggest), then spent this year applying and working off all of the debt from Europe and applying.

My friend's mother works for United so we get free tickets, this summer we are going to Bali for three weeks (all expenses paid by United). I figure that I'll be busting my ass for the next 40 years, I might as well go do as much as I can before my summers are filled with studying, boards, and research!

Hi everybody,

A friend of mine referred me to this site, so I'm a newb here. Just wanted to say HELLO to everybody. I thought I'd start my first post here by saying that I'm going to pick my butt this entire summer, and download movies for my personal Home Blockbuster entertainment when I go off to med school.

Work, party, sleep, work, party, sleep, work, party, sleep, work, party, sleep, etc...

a week after graduation, a friend is heading out on the open road with me. We're driving up to see our friend in Jacksoville (on the Atlantic) and driving on I-10 from it's beginning to the end at the Pacific! We're gonna make a week out of it, stopping to see friends and camping/hiking at national parks in Lousiana, Texas and Arizona. We'll stay in SoCal for ~ week than drive up to San Jose for my sis's wedding at the end of May before driving all the way back the first week of June.

His brother and dad live near Victorville or San Bernadino, so maybe I'll also be going to the beach with some of the local SDNers.. jalbrekt, Jessica, matt0126, others that'll be in the area?

Going to Saint Maarten for a week (end of May/beginning of June) and then finishing up my Master's Thesis for most of the summer. Hope to be done that by the end of July so that I can spend August relaxing a bit.
