Summer classes in college for med school??

Is is ok to take summer classes in college to fulfill medical school course requirements to gain entry? because i have heard that med schools think summer classes are downgraded so they don't like it much.

i can't imagine why they'd think that. summer classes are way more intense since schools have to cram so much into a short period of time
