I haven't heard of any but my suggestion would be to look at the various institutions in Hawaii and see if there websites offer any information or call specific academic areas within those schools.

Just a warning...a lot of the schools in Hawaii are particular on who not only attend there school, but other programs they may offer. Don't just apply for an exotic summer vacation, let them know you are really interested in there school and medical programs.

Need something to do this summer to build your medical school application and make it more competitive? How about applying to a summer research program here in Hawaii. The Straub Foundation is currently taking applications for Summer 2005 for students interested in doing clinical research. Seats are limited so apply now! Forms can be found at

Dr. Lurie (sp) mentioned to me just how extrememly competitive it was. From the pamphlet I saw, it was mostly students from Stanford, BU, etc... Not to discourage you from trying at all. The stipend is also very low (like $1k) which pales in comparison to other programs. Good luck to you, though.
