But sometimes it can be looked on as bad. My pre-med adviser calls it the "kiss of death" because according to her, taking pre-reqs during this summer is bad for the following reasons:
It makes it look like you're rushing to get UG over with.
It's harder than the normal course due to its speed so you're less likely to do well in it.
Despite the difficulty, the course may be looked down upon for the reason of less time, less detail. There may be some things your professor has to skip over because of time constraints.
There's a lot of information and little time to grasp and remember it all. So in the long run you may end up doing more studying for it later with the MCAT.
Just something to mull over. If you don't have any real reason to take a pre-req over the summer, don't. Take a core/gen ed class over the summer instead. If you're a non-trad it may be a different story. Otherwise, avoid it.
