Summer Programs - What do you recommend?

So I am a freshman applying to summer programs or have finished some apps. I realized after finishing that this forum was probably a great resource in terms of getting good advice on what programs are really good, and what is worth avoiding. So the question is, for anyone, what summer programs did you find enjoying/worth going to?

Hard to get into these as a freshman/soph.

Personally, I love doing the international REUs because not only does it give you a different perspective on research and is an incredible experience, but you also get paid to travel to another country
