For the following summer, I'm planning to either

1. take classes during summer so I can raise my gpa
2. do research (special 8-10weeks one that some college offer)

Which one of them would look nicer at the end when I apply to med school?

Also, I have a question that..

If I volunteer at hospital, does it matter if it's clinically related or not?
Do hospitals specify what I volunteered in hospital?

i would probably take courses if ur GPA really need helping, but if above like a 3.5, do something more meaningful.

i think the point of clinical experience is more for your own understand, rather than to show off that you did some, so do whatever you enjoy and think you require.

how much can a couple of classes really boost your gpa. Unless it's really low, do research.

how about both?

I do that and it's manageable.

Both, isn't it summer BREAK?

Unless you really need to pull up your GPA or need classes to graduate on time I would go with research, especially if it pays.

haha yeah, dont have much of a choice in my case though. I need to take some pre-reqs to some upper level classes. 🙁
Last summer was a bitch, I actually couldn't wait for school to start so that I could take it more easily
So yeah, OP, unless you can manage not having time to have fun during the summer, I would do both. Otherwise, I would go with research.
