I was looking at schools in NYC, and I missed SUNY Downstate. Are they receptive to out of state applicants? I checked the MSAR and saw about 1 out of 7 OOS applicants were interviewed (217/1404). I don't find this ratio to be outrageous when comparing to some of the other schools like NYMC which interviews about 1 in 10 applicants (724/6945). Yet, there are only 24 out of state applicants who matriculate. Do a lot of people just not choose to matriculate or does the public school love for NY residents weed out most OOS applicants after their interviews?
