hey i interviewed on September 22nd at Suny Upstate and still havent had a decision made show up on my online status page and have not recieved any emails or phone calls yet? Anyone else still left in limbo by Upstate who interviewed in September?

Yes, I interviewed on Sept. 8th and my status page does not have a decision on it nor did I receive any e-mails or phone calls. I think we're just flat out rejected.

that would really suck if we are rejected. But maybe well be getting that long await phonecall either tomorrow or monday.

It would really suck, but I remember them saying that rejections arrive via snail mail - I'm going to check by my mail today and let you know if I find anything.

hey i just called them, i had to call their 1800 number because their other number just goes to a automated machine that tells you to check your status online. Whoever i talked to on the phone had me give them my Amcas# and they told me no decision had been made, and i might just not have been taken to the comittee yet for a decision. She said she knows they meets on wednesday nights and perhaps there a little behind, which would mean ill have to wait till next wednesday to find anything out, either that or im just flat out rejected, who knows. Hope this helps.

So I got the letter in the mail today from Upstate and you know what that means ... Rejected! Can somebody please tell me why?

no idea dude, your numbers are insane, the only thing i can think of it that the actual interview at upstate was closed file, how good of a interview did u think u had? Maybe your interviewing skillz arent up to par. got a question for you, what day did you interview on and also did your online status change to decision made? and how long ago did it change?

wait... this could be important for the rest of us whose rejection letters might be in the mail.. does your status page say decision made or is it just blank? because apparently people who got accepted or waitlisted have decision made in their status. also when did you interview?

My online status has been "Decision Made" for a while, and I interviewed on 9/17. I always ask for feedback after my interviews, and no interviewer has yet told me that my interviewing style is problematic.

This is why I am a little disappointed. Apparently, it was really easy for them to reject me (not even waitlist). The interviews went really well I thought. I was told by one of my interviewers (4th year student) that I will get "the call" from Ms. Welch. The other interviewer though, after I told him that I am really interested in carrying on research, told me that Upstate is not the place for me.

But honestly, I never looked at Upstate as a safety and tried my best to get accepted and would have seriously considered going there.

well i interviewed on 9/22 and a decision made has not yet shown up on my status page yet. When i called admissions today they said perhaps the adcom might be running a little behind schedule and might not have gotten around to my application. So hopefully theyll review it this upcoming wednesday and hopefully give me the magical call.

I emailed Jennifer Welsh and she told me I was on the HPA list. Not too happy about it but there's nothing I can do now. I interviewed on the 10th. I do not think they meet every Wednesday.

10/6. I emailed Jennifer Welch at her email address, and she replied in 11 minutes. Her exact message was:

We are a little behind, we should have your decision completed next week...
Sorry for the delay...

So I am gonna wait one week, and then give up hope...

nice, this waiting game is tough particularly because they had told us to expect a decision by the first week of november. i also saw that several people who interviewed 10/20 and were accepted found out this monday.

hey does anyone know if it is even possible to move up and down on the waitlist before they start accepting people off of it???...like can your rank change in the meantime?? I got notified of being hpa a few days ago, but I can't help but wonder what if I did something awesome this year like find a cure for bird flu or somethin ...would that even matter now with a ranked waitlist???
