I'm a 3rd year med student, and I am want to arrange a surgery elective in the UK - preferably in Edinburgh or Glasgow. I'm having a hard time finding preceptor who will take me. Has anyone out there done electives in the UK, or are there anyone who knows of anyone who will take on a med student for a few weeks who might be able to give me some advice? I've already e-mailed the British Medical Association but have not gotten a reply. Thanks,

    Heather

Try posting your message at http://www.mds.qmw.ac.uk/admissions/new_forum.html - somebody there is sure to know the answer or at least know where you can find out more. Sorry can't be of any more help, but being in the south of the UK I have to say I don't know Scotland too well...
