Im a gen surg resident about to start my 5th year. Im thinking about what to do when I graduate. I know I want some extra training but am unsure about how to get it. Im currently planning on doing a colorectal fellowship but someone mentioned the idea of a GI or mixed surgery apprencticeship, either in the US or Europe. Ive tried searching the web but cant find any info on this unusual postgraduate job path.
Does anyone have any info, ideas, or know anything about official or unofficial apprenticeships for a board eligible general surgeon (which I will be when I graduate next year)?
