Surgical Residenct lifestyle

As someone who is a bit older just starting to pursue a career in medicine are there any surgical residencies that are at all lifestyle friendly. I know about the 80/hr rule, but I still can't believe that most surgical residents are "only" working 80hrs. My guess would be ENT, Optho, Urology.

It is my understanding that residents are responsible and report their own hours. I dont think there are any PD's who twist residents arms and make them report less hours. Rumor has it hopkins med res got into deep s*&^ for violating the rules.
