Patient came in after super gluing a big lac on his thumb-to stop the bleeding. Patient is a construction worker who dropped a pole plunger on thumb- wound poorly closed can you still suture it after super glue?- I know to irrigate and inspect- what is your opinion?

All depends on how old the wound was. I treat this depending on age and no super glue.

Depends. Simple clean lac with no high risk features, I’d prob leave it glued. If it’s dirty and poorly closed and under 12hrs I’d prob digit block, get the glue off, inspect, irrigate and formally close.
