Hello

How should I start to study for the USMLE Step 1? Should I go by the subject approach or the systems approach. The latter will help me integrate all subjects for a particular disease. I think by the former approach, I will have to integrate it all later.

I'm leaning towards a systems approach. The Step is mostly clinical vignettes that integrates the pharm, path, physio, etc. of a particular disease (of a particular system) into one question? Correct me if I'm wrong!!!!

Go by the First Aid method...that is just go through that book over and over until you know it very well...when you can draw every table and graph in that book from memory you'll be set to take Step 1.

Questions on Step 1 vary considerably in depth, breadth, and difficulty. Some are basic knowledge questions, others take a little 'integration', and others take a lot.
