Taking a leave of absence?

Hey fellow nontrads,

Have any of you asked for a leave of absence from your current job to buy yourself some time to prepare for the MCAT? Like a lot of other people, I'm working full time, taking classes, and studying for the (August) MCAT in my "free" time. But, I'm afraid that I won't be as ready as I want to be unless I get a few weeks off from work to just study.

Has anyone felt the same way, and successfully gotten a temporary leave of absence from work?? 😕

I did, and I think it was a good decision. I was only part-time to start with, though, so that may have made things easier.
