what is the effect of a stimulant + depressant taken together

do they cancel each other ?

stimulant effect is first followed by depressant ?

can someone explain this in terms of pharmacological/biochemical

It depends on the drugs involved, the receptors (and post-receptor signal transduction pathway - very important to know), and the dose of drug. This question can't be answered generally.....

Agree with this. Also if you (OP) are planning to do this on an exam, it is a bad idea.

ok as a side discussion .. for fun,

i'm wondering why people say redbull&voda mixes are bad for you.

is it because of its drastic change on heart & respiratory rate ?
perhaps if ya bartender puts in more redbull than vodka, it will cause you to feel the effects of stimulant first.. then as soon as it wears off your heart compensates by suddenly lowering the respiratory rate and heart rate..
which will then be exacerbated by the depressant's effect (alochol ) ?

perhaps somewhere down the line it will have an effect in CNS somewhere ?

i dunno im just tryin to make a discussion outta it now ...
just suttin' to think about. lol
