Why u taking organic at a JC? We have some pretty good professors teaching the 51 series at UCI such as Dr. King!!Great professor even though her final was a killer...

I did it. I can't imagine UC med schools...as tough as they are in acceptances...looking down on it especially if UCI actually transfers the credits and I know UC has deals with a lot of junior colleges, right?

I'm at UCSD finishing premed courses right now.

There are some funky rules abut taking the classes at community college. Unless they are actually transfered, many med schools (including some UCs) won't touch them. If it is an "upper division" course such as biochem or ochem you will limit your choices taking it at a JC. Those courses do not transfer to UCSD because the are considered upper division.

I got mixed reuslts on this. UCI (my new school!!!!) does take JC coursework.

Run a search. This has come up many times. As I recall, the consensus around here seems to be that unless you have a really good reason, it is not worth the risk. The good reasons usually seem to involve a 4 year university not being available to you. That doesn't seem to be the case for you. The potential risk involved is obviously school dependent and debatable.
If you are a regular, traditional undergrad and you take your prereqs at a jc, the adcoms will notice. Will it hurt you? Anybody's guess. Worth the risk? I don't think so, but you decide. If you want to live at home and take JC classes over the summer, go for it. But don't take the prereqs.
