The first time I scored 5VR/5PS/6BIO for a total of 16N. I self studied and wasn't prepared when I took it. My grandmother also passed away in the same week. I made the mistake of not voiding it out of stupidity. The second time I scored 6VR/8PS/10BS - 24N. I was scoring 28-32 on my aamc exams (12s on PS). Should I retake it for a third time or just give up and head to the caribbean?

Did VR hold you back on the practice exams too?

I'm a third retaker myself, and I've been doing consistently better on practice tests than last time and plan to do MUCH better. Don't take it again unless you really feel confident. Maybe check out DO?

How badly do you want to go to med school, and how hard are you willing to work to get there?

It looks bad when you've taken the MCAT three times and not significantly improved (gotten 30+). On the flips side, if on this third time you get a solid score, you could spin the retakes as your desire to practice medicine. It looks like you should strengthen your VR. Look up some of the threads around here for help. Lastly, keep in mind that when you retake practice FLs, they lose their predictive power because you've seen them already.
