Anyone taken loans out for undergrad schools even if you didn't really need to? I'm thinking of it as a chance to improve one's credit rating, but does it really? Or is it a bad idea?

This is regarding stafford/perkins loans.

The best thing you can do to build credit is to get a credit card, charge $20 or so on it every month and pay it off in full every time you get the bill. Always pay it on time (you can often set it up to draft your bank for the minimum payment every month).
