The propagation of a longitudinal wave would be MOST difficult through which of the following mediums?

A. Intergalactic space
B. Oxygen gas
C. Blue ice
D. Granite

i swear i solved same question in TBR book where the correct answer was oxygen because in space it would be IMPOSSIBLE and not MOST difficult. Ugh!

Duder. Sound is a longitudinal wave.

It needs a medium to pass through. Space has no medium so it can't do much. Think about it. Sound needs air or ground to move through.

Transverse waves, like light, move through space a-okay.

I know that, but I was saying there was a question in the book somewhere asking the same thing, but trick of that question was noticing that it was asking for MOST DIFFICULT not impossible medium

Calm down, I guarantee that this sort of "tricky" question won't be the one that keeps you from getting into med school.
