Temple University Hospital's Pediatric Dental Residency Program is excited to offer 12 month internship position beginning July 1st, 2014. Please see the information below for addition detail. Interested applicants are asked to email the program coordinator at [email protected].

Pediatric Dental Internship

Length of program: 12 months

Purpose: The purpose is to provide a deeper understanding of and exposure to pediatric dentistry within a clinical setting. Working along side of pediatric dental residents and attending, the intern will be exposed to all aspects of pediatric dentistry including but not limited to non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic behavior management, comprehensive dental care, and education/ community outreach for infants, children and adolescents with and without special health care needs.

Duties: The internship program is to serve as an experience to allow a greater exposure to the specialty of pediatric dentistry. As an intern, you will be exposed to the daily clinical and non-clinical setting in which a pediatric dental resident will experience. Exposure to routine and more complex operative and restorative dentistry, advanced behavior management techniques, full oral exams, community outreach and a full didactic schedule. Attendance to lectures is required when scheduling allows and individual PowerPoint presentations may be required. Interns will not be asked to take call for after hour emergencies.

Interns will not participate in external rotations to Cooper Medical Center (Pediatric Medicine and Emergency Room), Special Smiles, St. Christopher’s General Anesthesia, Cooper Cleft Lip and Craniofacial Clinic or Kornberg (Temple) University School of Dentistry. These rotations are set aside for pediatric dental residents.

An intern may work up to 40 hours per week in the clinic in which they are placed. These hours are made up of clinic time spent or scheduled for the clinic area and do not include any regularly scheduled didactic or lecture hours. Interns will be allowed to moonlight.


Annual Salary: $ 38,900

Benefits: All resident benefits apply.

Days off: All resident PTO applies.

Application Requirements: CV, 2x2 photo, pre-dental and dental transcripts, two letters of recommendation (ideally clinical recommendations).

*Applicants must have graduated from a ADA accredited dental school.
