Good luck to all of us :) With patience we can all get through the TMDSAS interface. :D

Can anyone offer advice for the personal essay vs the personal characteristics essay? I wrote what I believe to be one of my best essays for the characteristics one but after reflecting on it, I pretty much would have used the same experiences/opportunities/challenges for both. I don't want to sound repetitive. Thanks! I'm a first time OOS to TAMU but second cycle applicant :) Best of luck to everyone!!!

For my personal statement I talked about my experiences which lead me to and through my career in veterinary medicine thus far, and how they tie into being a veterinarian specifically. For personal characteristics I took it as more of a creative writing assignment and tied in my attributes and experiences that might help another student see a different perspective, it was less about being a veterinarian and more about how I could use my life experiences in an academic setting and how they tie into the field as a whole vs my personal journey if that makes sense.

Could anyone provide clarification? On the application guide, TMDAS says to add experiences into multiple sections when it applies (i.e. healthcare activities and employment). However, for vet students it is discouraged. Is this only for vet-related hours? Or does it also include if I had extracurricular activities that apply to leadership? If that makes any sense at all. I've sent a message to TMDAS but was interested if anyone had an answer in the meantime.

Veterinary applicants should only put one experience/activity and not double post it. I.E. if you have leadership experience at a place of employment under a veterinarian, put it under veterinary experience only. This question was addressed during todays office hours Q&A on YouTube! (the last one before the application closes). - YouTube

Can anyone help? I went to submit my TMDSAS payment and the page refreshed and now I receive an error message when I go to pay

I would screenshot it and reach out to them via the portal or email, probably not something anyone on this forum can help with.

I was having this issue last night- you have to wait 20 minutes for the ‘payment request’ to time out before it will let you try again. When you’re in the payment portal, be careful not to refresh or hit the back button.

Has anyone who submitted also seen GPA calculation on your status page? I have that but no PCR so unsure if its finalized or not yet.

I have GPA calculation with a note that it may be recalculated as the application is processed. I do not have a PCR, and based on the TMDSAS updates they're reviewing applications submitted 8/8. Mine wasn't submitted til the last week so I'm guessing a few weeks will go by before I get any adjustments on my application.

Hi Pre-vets!

This is an announcement about pre-requisites that will go into effect for the next application cycle (Entry Year 2026)
The TAMU Veterinary School has announced changes to the pre-requisites for the 2026 application cycle (for matriculation to vet school in the fall of 2026).

Prerequisite Updates - DVM Professional Program (tamu.edu)

The following are changes for Entry Year 2026 (EY 2026). EY 2026 will open on May 1, 2025.

For the FUTURE cycle of EY 2026:

  • 4 hours of Physics with lab will be required, rather than 8 hours.
  • 3 hours of ENGL will be required, rather than 6 hours. Note: A public speaking course is still required (3 hours).
Cheers!

The portal still says they have not recieved my supplemental payment or CASPer score, has anyone else had this issue? I have email confirmation of both of those being completed and submitted my application over 2 weeks ago.

Mine too. I emailed A&M about it, they said the portal doesn't update until TMDSAS transmits the application. As long as you have receipts/screenshots, they said it would be fine.

Got a notification that my application has been transmitted this morning! :) I submitted on 8/29 for reference. My supplemental portal has been updated as well.

Just curious if anyone knew when interviews and/or decisions typically came out for Texas A&M? I know I have lots of time regardless, was just wondering :) Thank you!

I got my pre-interview rejection last year in November.
