Texas Medical Schools: How do you rank them?

Someone I care whole lot about is applying to texas medical schools. We both don't know much about the reputations of each school. I would like to know how you guys rank texas schools in the order of your preference. It would be a big help. Thanks!

you don't need advice in picking something you like--only you know what fits for you. just be honest and go w/your gut instincts. honestly rank them in order of preference from highest to lowest; don't worry about anything else. that's it.

It really depends on what you are looking for and what you want to do.

For prestige (based on MCAT/GPA entering) I would say:
Baylor
UTSW
Houston/Tech (tie)
A&M
SA
Galveston

For me the priority was congestion and least effect on my family:
Tech
SA
A&M
Houston/Galveston (tie)
UTSW
Baylor

Personally, I was not interested in Galveston (bad rep), UTSW (Dallas dosn't wourk out for me) and A&M (just not interested). SA, UTH and Baylor were the back-ups if I didn't get into Tech. My stats are fine so any of the schools would have worked from that regard.

The bottom line is that you must clearly define what is important to you, then research.

Also, by about the 10th post, these turn into bashing, flame wars. "My first choice is better than yours, idiot", "where the f$&k did you find that bull**** information", "86% of our students do not fail step1", "that probelm never existed and BTW, it was corrected last yr", ect, ect😉

I have preconceived rank ideas but will surely alter the ranking if afforded the opportunity to interview. We all have different priorities.
