What is the deal with the Texas Medical School System? Are these schools easier to get into? Do they have good reputations? Must applicants be Texas residents? Thanks.
With the number of applicants in Texas alone, the schools are no easier to get into than other state schools. Nearly all the schools are middle-tier, with UT Southwestern and Baylor closer to the top. All the state schools (6) are required to accept 90% in-state applicants, but frequently choose more than that. Baylor also has a high preference for Texas residents (i think up near 80-90%)
