text recommendation for CCU

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you really mean the CCU, then Marino will help a little. The CCU is a different beast and not the typical ICU. The best thing would be to do a lit search and pull up a few recent review articles on management of cardiogenic shock, acute MI, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and heart failure. This literature changes so fast, a textbook would be outdated before it even went to print.

I would also review the ACLS code algorithms if you haven't gone over them recently... (codes happen much more often than you would like in the CCU) 🙂

Also, to add to the major topics, a review of pressors would be helpful -- either with Marino, or a good review article. If I remember correctly, Marino may be a bit outdated on the topic of pressors, but can provide some good basics before getting to the review articles.

Brunwald's "Heart Disease"...huge book, but you can get targeted sections that you need on MDConsult
...and I'd try to get papers on famous trials done on beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, PTCA trials, GPIIb/IIIa studies...that stuff will come up a lot (if you're at a hospital with a strong cardiology program).
