Thank you notes for LOR writers

Hello everyone. Just wondering what the standard procedure is for writing thank you notes to LOR writers is? I was thinking I'd write a personal and unique email thanking each one in a way specific to how they've helped me. Would this be adequate or will some of my more old school mentors be expecting a handwritten/snail mail note?

I think it is really up to you. As far as I know, there really isn't one set procedure. I made personal hand written notes for each of my writers because I thought it would be a little more thoughtful. I think writing an individualized email can work as well. Again, I think it's really your preference.
