Does anyone know how one would go about getting a job at the AFIP? I'd love to subspecialize in one area -- gyne path or GI, for example -- and receive consultations from all over the country on the most challenging cases (I know, I know, high ambitions😉 ). But seriously, do you have to be in the Army to work there? Are there other places where one could become a consultant in an area and have cases sent in by other pathologists for review? I know many academic pathologists have their area of expertise, but I'm not sure how many outside consultations they generally do... Thanks for any help! And good luck to all the PGY-1s starting this week!
