Hey,

So I've been working evaluating psychometric tests in a psychiatric wing at a hospital. I also do some various admin and research duties.

Clinical or non-clinical? What do you guys think?

I would say clinical, but it's not volunteering (since you say you've been "working"). If I remember correctly, employment isn't categorized into clinical or non-clinical experiences on AMCAS.

It's not. I actually think it's broken down into Military and Non-Military, right? And I would definitely say that is clinical experience, though.

Oh, sorry - should have mentioned - it's unpaid.
So it's definitely volunteer, hallelujahhh.

Ps: Thanks for your replies!

LizzyM will always have the last word on this issue, if I could be permitted to quote her...

"If you can smell patients, it is a clinical experience."

what does your nose tell you?

unfair question. ;)
i can smell most of them from the coffee room -_-

If you are administering psychometric tests (face to face with the patient), it's clinical. If you are evaluating the results, and maybe writing the report (with no patient contact), then it's not, IMO.

correct. "Clinical" requires patient contact.
