ive been waitlisted across the board and am looking for tips on the most efficient and effective manner to "Show my continued interest" in these schools. i know about sending updated transcripts, LORs, etc, but how often should I call/send loveletters? When I do call, who should I speak to (the dean, admissions officer, etc.) and how do I make sure they remember me calling? Thanks for any advice

i havent heard anything from cornell yet, but i called today and they said they sent a "letter"-- which is not an email acceptance- despite my LOI and the fact that i am a cornell ugrad- i have very little expectations from them. im preparing for a long summer of calling/bribing my WL's into letting me become a doctor SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE.

I'm sure you will get in SOMEWHERE. Which schools still have you on their waitlist? Also, what were your stats? Would you be willing to go through another application cycle in case none of these waiting lists panned out? I wish you the BEST of luck and I'm sure you'll get into one of these schools. However, you should also be cautious and prepare for worst case scenarios. Just make sure you have a plan for what to do in any situation.

You might want to be slightly more careful about how this is thought of. It's perfectly ok to have an immature attitude about applying, nothing wrong with that since everyone gets cranky about it around this time. Maybe just make sure it doesn't get transmitted when expressing yourself over the phone. And then again, sometimes waiting a year or two to apply for most people would probably be a good thing as far as perspective goes.

For bufer1 and other waitlisters, see my comments in the Georgetown decisions thread. I posted some info that may help with getting off waitlists.

Why does Cornell show no love for its own undergrads? I feel your pain.

I can relate bufer. I too have been waitlisted all across the board. And for the most part, I don't think it has much to do with Immaturity (I refuse to admit that it does! ;) ).

All my letters of interest and update have been sent. I even managed to squeeze off a letter of intent to the school of my dreams. So, without further adue [sp?], what else can I do to get in.

Legitimate advice only please. And yes I have considered favors! ;)

were you waitlisted at Weill?

As an alternative to the cliched 'chill pill', I'd recommend a 30:70 combo of percocet:ketamine. Half a cup should do. Should keep you calm for a long time.

Hope that Helps

Just go ahead and fill my prescription. I could use that concoction..seeing as I have a Neuronanatomy lab practical and Neuroanatomy midterm on the same day...right after spring break.

Actually, I know one in the admit process at nu, not high up but def part of it. There are usually very few waitlist accepts off nu but many applied also got waited at washington univ. unfortunately they also have few, though they say 50 more than 1100 students are on waitlist.

good luck to all though with kissing of ass
