They are the "future"....They are "teaching" residents...The guy is a fraud and I hope that he will receive exclusively "nursing care" or maybe at best a family "doctor" care (from Alabama).

Yikes. You can think what you want about Obama and nurses, but let's refrain from digging at family medicine and doctors from Alabama please. Last I checked, UAB was an accredited allopathic medical school, and a good one at that.
So they supposed to be proud of Mrs. Regina Benjamin????

And I will not "refrain" to dig at family medicine doctors. They are the one that kissed Obama behind.

Our Opportunity to Shape Health Reform
With the health care reform debate entering its most critical period, FPs across the country are becoming more active and influential in a collective movement to fix our broken health care system. "

"What the Doctor Ordered"
AAFP President Ted Epperly, M.D., of Boise, Idaho, greeted the news enthusiastically. "Here is a wonderful example of a family physician who has worked in the trenches all her life, and for her to get picked -- it's a dream come true," he told AAFP News Now.
"The AAFP could not be prouder to have a family physician like Dr. Benjamin be the next surgeon general," Epperly added. "She is exactly the type of person that our health care system needs at this critical time of health care transformation. She will bring a family physician's touch and sensitivity to our nation's most pressing health care problems and is exactly 'what the doctor has ordered' to move the United States to a better health car"
I like to see a CABG done with "touch and sensitivity"
I bet that the "surgeon general" is a (at best) a mediocre physician!
I bet she's great to write warnings on the cigarettes packs. Way to go US healthcare!
She still went to medical school. She deserves to be addressed as "Doctor", don't you think?
Nope - because in the Obama administration view, there is no difference between "doctors" and nurses. Therefore - because she belongs to this administration ( and do your own research about her actions...) she sees herself more like a nurse. So I think that is appropriate to don't call her a doctor. And also I think that she hates doctors. I think she was really frustrated in her clinic in rural Alabama when she had to reffer patients for real care to a specialist because the only think that she could provide was "empathy". BTW - she got in ths school with the affirmative action BS?
Like Professor Martin Luther King said - "I have a feeling!"Want to put your name, position, and place of emplyment behind that statement big guy? Or is this internet bravado?

Of course he won't. Internet tough guys are cowardly and abundant. Besides...what kind of "attending specialist" can't spell the word "refer". You'd think out of any word in the dictionary, they'd have that one down pat...
This thread is disgusting. Please delete.
Here is another example of how the media/entertainment biz is trying to smear doctors.
Anybody see the previews for the new show in NBC coming in the fall called "Mercy"?
From: http://www.nbc.com/mercy
"One-hour drama
Series Premiere, Wednesday Sept. 23rd 8/7c
You haven't seen inside a hospital until you've seen it through the eyes of those who know it best: its nurses. Veronica Callahan is one of those nurses. She just returned to Mercy Hospital from a tour in Iraq and knows more about medicine than all of the residents combined. Together with fellow nurses Sonia and Chloe, she navigates the daily traumas and social landmines of life and love both inside the hospital and out in the real world."
Disgusting.

This is old news. We've been talking about HawthoRNe and Nurse Jackie on this board for months.
Ok, well Bert this is a different nurse show. Nobody's talked about it on this forum as far as I could tell. What's up with all the new shows on nurses?
Just another step in the demonization of physicians and canonization of nurses.
We are attacked by commies and I will answer back. They are a plague and history will judge who is right or wrong.
Yes - I heard and I saw ( not smelled...) Leonid Brejnev and Mao. Did you??? So it is much easier to "smell" a communist compared with others.Do you ever hear, see, or smell things that other people don't?....
Please, just please stop.

so you should know, then, that i was asking you basic questions to see if you hallucinate.
I think you need to let go of this whole commie thing, really.
