I think its a BIG PROBLEM. I literally spend half of my day daydreaming of becoming a med student, resident, or sub-specialist. I think about it in the shower, when I take long walks, and especially before I go to sleep. Fortunately, it hasn't affected my grade/life but its more of a when than an if. Last night I was reading about the lives of CT, CTVS, GS, and Ortho from 10pm-3am (and I have a cold/fever and came home from a long day with a midterm)! And I cant stop! My friends advise me strongly not to think of the future since it will keep me out of focus from the present. I was wondering if this happens to most of you.
*And I know saying that "I want to be a/an (insert specialty)" is like saying I want to be an olymic professional because I like jogging in my spare time. But I cant stop and I do enjoy it .
