is getting an 8 in physical sciences really bad?
it seems that schools will forgive a lower verbal score moreso than a lower score in one of the science sections... if they tell me my mcat got me rejected, i might have to die. i absolutely refuse to take it again, and i have very good reasons.

Yes.. PS can kiss my @$$. I've always been mathematically ******ed and have hated physics with a passion. Go figure.

i got a B and B- in Physics I and 2 and managed a 12 on PS. I think MCAT physics is much less intense than the actual course. fear not!

I did bad on my PS section too!! (2 points lower than my BS, 3 points below my Verbal, totally screwed up my cumulative, ick.) I asked my pre-med advisor what I should do and whether or not I was screwed, and he told me that although it wasn't great, schools would rather see a low PS than BS or verbal, and that PS didn't matter as much in med school. Hope this helps some. BTW, I have received one acceptance so far, so all is not lost. 😀

i was a little taken aback by how much PS there has been in human physiology so far. MS2+'s can probably say more about this.

YUCK, the dreaded PS section. Gosh that section was almost the death of me and my application. The other sections I did well on but on the PS section I got a .............................. are you ready for this........................
....................................a freaking 6. I have been accepted with this awful score, so an 8 surely won't kill you.

My PS score is 3 points below both my Verbal and BS. I have one acceptance so far. I had a dean of admissions let me know that they think VERBAL is the most important. So don't worry about it- maybe concentrate on the BS and VR sections to get a better score? Worked for me....

I also didn't do so well on PS, I had three points lower than my BS and VR.

I haven't been accepted yet, but I've had four interviews in the last four weeks. A few of the schools told me they have a cut off for cumulative MCAT score to pass through the initial screening, not individual section scores. So despite my 8 in PS, they still offered me interviews.
