To those of you who grumble about URM stats -
Do you think that URMs make bad doctors? If not, then shut up for good.

Although I actually agree with your opinion, I do not think anybody should have to shut up. Everybody has a right to voice their opinion, it is a right guaranteed in our constitution.

Honestly speaking, i heard from many med students that the hardest part is to get in..then is cruising from there on...anyone can do it if they have the heart and we'll all make good docs..

Adam Sandler rules! That's the best quote I've seen on SDN.

"Shampoo is better. It makes the hair clean. Conditioner is better. It makes the hair silky and smooth."

I'm glad to see that 12 years ago the futility of the URM debate was recognized, and yet it continues.

I am glad to see someone bump a twelve year old thread to ask what a phrase used over a decade ago means.....

You know, it's actually pretty amusing to see that nothing has changed in 12 years.

    Well that didn't work.

Lol I wonder what the average URM stats were back then...

"I have 28/3.6 and some URM took MY spot with a 24/3.3, OMG reverse racism."

Haha it always cracks me up when people say someone took their spot. Clearly its not ur spot because u didn't earn it.

Sent from my SCH-I405 using SDN Mobile

These are honestly the dumbest threads on SDN.

The only person that matters to getting into med school is you. Worrying about other people is just a waste of time and energy.

Btw, as a urm, I'm looking forward to taking someone else's "spot".

How do people even find threads this old? I was in middle school when the OP ended the AA debate forever.

Threads like these really make me shake my head...& then I realise I've already been accepted to a top-10 school, and I don't feel so bad any more.

    Closing thread from 2001

According to Urban Dictionary, "button hooked" means "1. The art of fooling another person. Similar to a Wicked Burn. " The line is from an Adam Sandler movie though.
