So I'm aware that by this date (March 15), all schools know whether one has been accepted. But what is the true nature of these reports? Do med schools know exactly where an applicant is accepted and how many seats at what schools they're holding, or does it simply know that they have been accepted? And what about waitlisting information; is that reported?

If they know all the above, is it possible for this information to affect financial aid offers? Thoughts would be appreciated. :)

Schools that have accepted you are able to see exactly where else you are holding an acceptance. This can affect your chance at a "recruitment" scholarship, especially if a school sees that you are also holding an acceptance at a higher ranked school.

Later in the cycle, schools that have waitlisted you can also see this information. This is unlikely to affect financial aid.
