well, i didnt match.

i was sitting around in clinic and had to check the NRMP site since the email was taking way too long to get to my inbox (i didnt end up getting it until like 5pm, imagine if i waited that long).

did the scramble dance yesterday. i started out very freaked out and worried, and not knowing if id get a position. tried to get through to the places id rotated first, northwestern, rush, etc. i started calling around 11am and around 11:15 i got through to rush. i told the secretary my name and she said "whoa, hang on the PD wants to talk to you" the PD got on the horn and said "imtiaz? is this you? i dont beleive what im seeing on my desk right now." i said im just as shocked, sir. then he faxed my contract. the whole thing was over in like 5 minutes.

i spent most of the day feeling sorry for myself, but when i really think about it i figure im at my top choice. better that then be somewhere i dont want to be.

good luck to all those who matched tomorrow.

i remember way back seeing your name on this board. it's been a long road. glad you scrambled for a spot where you want to be at.

I echo oldman's sentiments - I am very happy that you have found a spot especially at a great place like Rush. Wish you all the best!

Same here. Congrats.

That must have been a hellish ride, but at least it ended nicely.

Good luck next year.

Same here. Many of us here go all the way back to pre-med days and now we're finally going somewhere! Good luck to you and congrats!

Same sentiments, brother. Good luck at Rush!

Imtiaz, that's just crazy that you would not match. Of all people...!

It sounds like the PD at Rush felt the same way, and I'm sure you'll have a great experience with residency there. Good luck!
