Well I know as a third year I was on the hunt for comfy dress shoes for the hospital. I heard a lot of people talk about echo's and those other really popular ones (drawing a blank right now) but for one, I did not like the style of any of those. Although they were 'dress' shoes-they really just looked awful. Also they really were not all that comfy. So I ended up just wearing regular dress shoes most times. But now as a 4th year, about a month ago I stumbled on buying a pair of Prada shoes. I got them at a discount at season change but they are the Prada Linea Rossa line of shoes. They are basicallya hybrid dress shoe-sneaker. They completely look like a really really ncie dress shoe (heck its prada!) but the entire sole and cushion of the shoe is a tennis/sneaker shoe.

I have worn them for a month now and seriously they are the most amazingly comfy thing in the world-better than the echo's I owned and even more comfy than straight out tennis shoes. They are more pricey obviously but WELL worth the investment. I have regular prade dress shoes from 4 years ago and they are still perfect even after years of wear. Good quality shoes last. They run 350-400 but the echos i bought were about 200 so really not a whole lto more for loads more comfort and WAY more style-anyway check them out!

they do look comfy and dressy, i must say.

Yes for dudes and I believe they make a line for females-and yes that is one of the shoes in the line-it is a whole line of shoes including about 30 pairs I believe-that is one of the nice ones you listed but not one I had-Online you can find them on Saks.com, neimanmarcus.com and a couple sites if you google the name prada shoes andsearch around. I personally went into neiman itself and they had a good selection.

I have 2 pairs-there are the ones I got-I have one in brown though-but these are the styles I got-there are about 6 really nice styles. If you look at the sole in the pic you can see the sneaker-like sole which I think not only looks really unique-like nobody ever has shoes like me I notice and also is responsible for the comfort. Plus they look unbelievablely good with dress pants or jeans for casual-I bought one pair for casual and one for work-honestly I am not some spokesperson and I know its a bit pricey but wow honestly they have been so relieving to wear and not get
home with sore feet is a blessing! It also does not hurt that I have got TONS of complements-which I am totaly no metro dude so for me to get compliments on my dress-well it is nice to hear when your having a long crappy day what can i say!

My Dansko clogs worked well and surely did not cost $300. The worked under slacks and with longer skirts as well. I had a separate pair for the OR too.

When I became a surgical resident, I traded my OR Danskos for Birkie Bostons. I can slip my feet in and out for instant refreshment during those long cases.

My ward wear are cowboy boots (too hot for the OR). Nice support and nice "funky" look with my scrubs. My backcut pythons didn't cost $300 and they wear like iron. Look good propped up on the nurses station too during naptime. 👍

Along similar lines, I wear Cole Haan shoes with the nike air technology... they're super comfortable too! I think Prada might have just copied that, haha... most comfortable shoes I've ever worn though. Coles also will break in really nicely and will feel heavenly after a few wears.

Well maybe you did not notice but Dansko's are uglier than all hell-the point of my thread was for people who actually care about some style and like having nice shoes that are still really comfy. If I was a surgery resident than no I wouldnt wear these in the OR-I would just wear comfy tennis shoes. Obviously these are not OR shoes-but these are good where you have to wear nice pants-like most other fields other than surg and obgyn maybe. So ya you can spend 100 bucks for uglier than all hell shoes that are not even taht comfy-how can you compare something you have no tried? i have tried dansko's, echos etc-Its cool-if you cant afford em then dont get em. for those of us who can, they are really nice comfy shoes.

Again-obviously there are other comfy shoes out there. NIke air max are more comfy than all of these. The point is-the cole shoes with that air pocket are ridiculous looking. I am showing these for poeple who like to wear a nice dress shoe with pants but dont because they are uncomfy-so thse are very nice dress shoes that look like any top dress shoe but at the same time are super comfy. I am not saying that no other comfy shoes exist but no other ones that are nice exist.

Umm, not all of them have the bubble:

I have the Air Marley from there and one of the waterproof ones... very comfortable, but also stylish!

I agree. I have a pair of Prada's that I purchased on sale a few years ago. They are a different style, discontinued now (and they are women's), but they have the same sneaker construction and are my absolute favorite dress shoes. I'm especially loving them this year on the wards. I'm an athlete and have done some serious damage to my feet over the years. I did purchase a pair of Dansko's for when I'm shuffling between clinic, floor, and OR, but I have a tendency to turn an ankle in them.

300 dollars? my goodness!

you can get a pair of Steve Maddens and some NICE insoles for cheaper and get the same result!

if i had the money to burn though, i think that i would go with the shoes, they look amazing.
