If I understood correctly, the PLA replaces the EE, so the QP/DDS is still required. The PLA is limited to one retake, and its $5300 + WES fees. I agree with whoever said we should go back home

As for specialists, their requirements are custom made for graduates of respectable programs of Aus/NZ and Scandenavia, which is legitimate. But if specialists can pass these exams and satisfy the requirements (similar program structure) why are they required to go back to school for 3 years?!

What is laughable is their statement: "The Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry (ACFD/AFDC) facilitates :eek:graduates of non-accredited dental programs in becoming licensed practitioners in Canada by ..."

Finally ..... Holy $h!!!!!t:eek:

Oh yea.. and by limiting the number of attempts they are limiting the number of applicants/complainers. Since more FTDs would change their career rathar than reapplying for 4-5 years... sssssweeet

As of January 1, 2010 the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) will replace the Eligibility Examination as an admission requirement for the Qualifying and Degree Completion programs in Canada.

Here

this seems more harder than before. more clinical practice for exam and limited number of retakes...Still have to go to school for 2 years...meeting each university's requirements.

Why not " Light a candle rather complainig about the darkness".
Theres 1 more EE in May... Give it your best shot , n there ll b no need to complain about PLA or whatever...

It is quite unfair.I am a new member here and also quite new in canada but I feel the system here is very unfair.I studied hard for EE and got 85 in May'08 which is not a bad score.i also have masters degree and many years of experience. But still got rejected for interview from manitoba and UFT.No news from halifax. I was actually teaching at university level in Bombay and could study only for 2 mth before exam. But could not prove my worthiness as i was not even considered for interview. It is quite upsetting. Anyway, i am planning to give NBDE and try in Us schools. They are better than these canadian universities.

You are damn right. This is the attitude we all need.

This is also damn right:thumbup:. Do yourself a favour and move south.

How this new format is going to affect univesity's requirements? Before, they were holding their indivvidual technical exams. Nothing is updated on their websites yet.

There is an EE next year, so its unlikely they would update their website before the end of 2009 since the changes are taking place in 2010. It'll be surprising if they keep their individual exams though.

they don't want any intrnational dentist here in canada and they say it by an elegant way .:cool:

.. it's .better than cick us out side of canada ,,isn't??:D
