Hey guys! Now that the new test dates are out, I figured I'd start a thread for all the January 2018 test-takers prepping for (and most definitely, slaying) this beast! 😉 This is a retake for me, but I'm aiming high! Who else is taking it in January?

I'm sure that sharing insights and support on SDN will make this journey all the more worth it. I have a feeling 2018 is off to a great start! Good luck everyone and may the odds be ever in our favor.

wait so are they being released on the 23? apparently someone told me not the 20th (since AAMC said like 30-35 days)

guys its slowly starting to hit me now. I told myself that it wouldn't bother me for a little bit longer, but like, even with my busy schedule, I'm started to feel the anxiety about the score. AAHHHHH i need another night out haha

Enjoy the weekend my friend. The calm before the storm

What did you guys do to celebrate after you finished the MCAT? I got take-out from my favorite stir-fry restaurant and ate it in bed while watching 8 hours of Game of Thrones. I also shamelessly drank 2 bottles of wine. Woke up the next morning feeling like a fat POS 😀

Tried to nap but ended up sleeping for like 10 min because of all of the adrenaline. Then proceeded to blow $100 on a steak dinner with my wife. No regrets though

parents took me to a nice restaurant and we ate well that night....but I mean the REAL celebration was when I drove back to my college town and went out with friends. the proceeded to catch up on all my classes the day after, lol

I ate a whole buffalo chicken pizza while watching The Lord of The Rings, for the first time. I later regretted eating the pizza, then I regretted the questions which I knew I missed on my test haha.

I drove up to the Golden Gate Bridge and seriously considered jumping off

I walked out of my testing center and across the street to Starbucks where I splurged on a giant latte. Then waited for my friends to get out of work while eating chips & guac and ruminating about questions I had no clue about. Once they were out, we met up and immediately went to a bar for the next 5+ hours. It was great, and I'm usually not one for drinking but MAN did I need it.

1 more week until results; not sure how I feel about it

Quite scared to be honest. I know it’s still early in reference to the application cycle but it really would make my life a hell of a lot easier if I didn’t have to take this stupid test again. Anything around a 507 -510 would be incredible. I truly have no idea what my score will be.

I went out for a very nice dinner with my roommates/friends. =)

Then, jumped right into work. I had a big due day within 5 days after the test day, and had to respond all the emails from my colleagues that I had not replied for a week....

I will plan another celebration after the day I get my scores back, REGARDLESS my scores. At least I got through the round 1. If I don't need a round 2, of course, I will celebrate that I have a go. If I need a round 2, then, I need some incentive for doing so. And, the good thing is, that day (27th) I will be in Bangkok (business trip). <3 I will treat myself a super big meal and do a (girls) night out with my colleagues.

Reading last year’s January mcat thread was kind of therapeutic. Everyone then was feeling the same way we are now and their scores turned out fine. In fact lots of them scored at or above their average score. Only 1 that I saw scored more than 3 points lower than their practice scores and it was still a solid 508. Also sounded like the test was similar to ours with respect to the difficulty of each section.

I know man. My practice tests ranged from 510 to 520 I'm driving myself crazy. I have no idea where I stand CARS will be my wild card hoping for 126+
Dude, that is a huge range! What was your feeling immediately after the exam? I personally got wrecked by C/P. I had to randomly select 6-7 answers towards the end because I was running out of time, and its been killing me ever since. I just hope I can get a score good enough to not retake.

I’m getting pretty sick of cycling between feeling like a super confident 520+ scorer, and a 500- scorer.

I’m assuming if they say the scores are released by 2/23 at 5:00 then they will be released that day. Is it possible they’ll be released before 2/23? Or will it certainly be on 2/23?

Felt OK after exam sciences were fine. Cars I'm always worried about but on the test it felt like I had my best cars yet we'll see though. Psych I have no idea! I know I missed a couple on psych so I feel you man

My AAMC average was 521, so I'm gonna say 520. What about you
Going to come down to my cars score and psych but I'm predicting 515/516. 518 would be amazing and 520 would be like out of this world. Who knows though man. I think you'll get around 522 to 525! Calling it now for you

Wasn't your AAMC average like 520?

Messed up on FL1 and got a 512 because I didn't answer 5 cars questions and ended up with 123 lol but other ones were 516 and 520 and 520 on sample :/
