Is it unlikely that a student can do 20 points higher on the real thing after getting a NBME score 20 points lower than his/her target 10 days before the exam?
I mean.. do you just walk into Step 1 getting whatever you got on your most recent NBME??
Doesn't that sound kind of weird to anyone? How can some assessment test really predict how well you will do?
More and more I'm thinking this exam is some sort of IQ test and that variation in scores is more to do with genetic endowment rather than a reflection of diligent hard work...
I would love to hear some kind of argument to this.
