These "experts" and "policy wonks" despise doctors. They compare physician income to what they get paid in France, without taking into account the cost of medical education, the fact that malpractice is almost non-existent, or the incomes of other professions in these European countries.

These "experts" want to starve physicians to death. They want doctors to be in $500,000 of medical school debt with 10% accruing interest while being paid no more than $60K.

Note: In that scenario, doctors won't have enough after-tax income to even pay interest on that debt.

They won't say it openly, but this is what their rhetoric and proposals will amount to :thumbdown:

People will take any data they can get their hands on to support their argument. The fact of the matter is that this country is going about reform in a completely asinine way; apparently bureaucrats know the ins and outs of the medical field more proficiently than to physicians. Of course, excluding physicians makes it easier to cut their reimbursements...
