There's a nurse shortage and they come up with this DNP thing.....

    to cover for a physician shortage? They should let med school and medicine authorities to deal with a physician shortage and nurses deal with their own shortage!!

    DNP's is nothing more than a "more money for me" diploma!!! It doesnt solve anything, it even makes the nurse shortage situation even worse.

    Being discussed in more than one forum around here... do a search.

    That said, I agree completely. From bachelors degree (in anything) to DNP is about 80 hours and 1000 clinical hours. That is about equivalent to 1st year medical school and 4-5 months in 3rd year.

    And now they want independent practice?
