These three schools suck!

I sent all secondary applications in for these schools more than 2 months ago. The same goes for my LOR's. I am STILL not complete. I called them up only to receive "Oh, you will be notified via email" in a really nasty tone. What the hell am I going to do if they did not get them and I eventually get screwed because they didn't want to look?!? 😡

The schools are:

Howard
Meharry
Penn State

P.S. Everyother school I am applying to has a complete file!

Meharry- I never recieved a complete e-mail, but judging by my other schools, I was probabaly complete around 1st week of october. I was invited for an interview Oct. 19th for Nov.

The people in the office have been really nice whenever I called.

you should call penn state. they weren't very nice but they did "complete" my application for me within a week.

Their school definitely doesn't suck (pleaseacceptmepleaseacceptme), but Yale is really worrying me. I completed my secondary in July, and sent my LORs nearly 2 months ago, and I'm still not complete according to their status page. The killer is they say "DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL ABOUT YOUR STATUS". 🙁

I would add Yale onto the list too. I sent in everything late August, and they already cashed my check too in early September. Only until late October did they say my file is complete. And they told ppl not to call/email to ask for admission status as well. How cocky that is....

I called Penn State and they were really nice to me. I told them that I wanted to make sure that my LORs didn't get lost in the mail. I think I talked to a girl named Amber.

Hmm...thats wierd! I wanted to make sure of the samething!! Maybe they were having a bad day but I can say the woman was rather rude.

Hey USArmyDoc - I think this is gonna sound a little a crazy....but before i call any school I expect for the worst. I calm myself, relax and just say "keep smiling" (even though they can't see me). It has worked!!! I start with "I am applicant to the medical school and I have two questions", and go "first is...." so they don't hang up before i am done and helps me stay organized.

Without a doubt...some of these admissions staff think that they are the deans of admissions and have PhD in answering phone calls (but they don't have the slightest decency to listen to someone or answer a question genuinely).

As I have stated before....my experienced with Howard has been good (at times better than most other schools).

I'd have to agree with the Penn State one. I submitted all of my stuff there early October (all of my recommendations get sent together from my undergrad institution and they post the date sent online) and I've yet to receive a complete notice (nor does it say complete on the website either).

Howard sent me a complete notice 3 weeks after I sent my stuff so not bad.

Meharry never sent me a complete notice but I did get an interview invite today for 12/16. (I moved it to 1/12 though cuz of a final on 12/16).

my pre-med committee letter got lost in the mail at the schools that i applied to and so i called yale to find out what their policy was on lost letters and the lady just growled "wait for an e-mail from us!" and hung up!!! my jaw hit the floor--i was so shocked! (i didn't think they would get pissed off over a lost letter inquiry. yale seems to be a great school but wow that particular preson whoever she was sucked ass big time. my check was cashed that same day too... 😕

Sorry to hear that. When I call, its all good with them. I talked to them about lost materials (I sent a money order and the USPS didnt scan it as delivered, just that it arrived at the post office.) They said they would work it out with me provided I have the documentation to prove stuff. I would just hang tight, they've been swamped lately, she must be stressed.

That Penn State lady is just straight up blunt. Kinda cold even. I think thats just her personality.

I called Penn State today and spoke to Amber. She is such a nice lady. She had me complete within the hour. Pretty pathetic if you think about it though. Howard is another story. I can't even get an answer out of them!! 😡
