wow, it's so cool that he's taking his own pain and is turning it into something positive. i just read another case of FOP recently and it was a 4 year old. and kids fall down, scrape their knees, etc, so really anything can flare up the condition which is quite sad.

It really is a mind-blowing disease. Just the fact that something like that could even exist in biology is like something out of a nightmare fairytale. More power to him, I hope he does find a cure.

interesting article, best of luck to Mr. Whelan. We studied FOP and its defective gene, ACVR1, in physio but I had no idea it was so rare. Crazy disease.
