Thoughts on UCLA post-interview?

So here's my deal: I interviewed at UCLA in mid November and have yet to hear anything from them, like many others on the list. What I would like to know is the impression UCLA students and applicants have of the school. There is so little information on the website, and during my interview day, I felt like all I did was have one interview, and then have lunch with med students who mostly talked about how much they loved the school, but not really why.

It's an important school to me because my SO is a grad student there, and I'd love to be in the same place as her, but I only have a vague sense that it's a good school with a highly regarded medical center. What do you guys think? Have other people had the same experience, finding it difficult to get a handle on what makes UCLA unique (besides it's lovely location, of course)?

i recently interviewed at UCLA...toward the end of Jan.

I went there for undergrad, and it's definitely my first choice.
i hear they're a bit slow getting back to people post-interview...i guess i'll be waiting a while to hear back

Interviewed middle of Jan. My first choice as well, even though I went to SC. Some things I liked:

Academics: Mix of lecture and pbl. Facilities were fine. The school has a good rep.
Location: LA is awesome. Westwood, Santa Monica, Hollywood, etc. so much to do and closer. The area is nicer. ~10 min from Malibu, venice. Little further to zuma and manhattan.
Fin. Aid.: Supposedly they give some decent scholarships to a lot of students.
Housing: Weyburn seemed pretty nice, know a math phd that lives there. Not too expensive either. Utilities included!
Undergrad is attached. Into BME research, which most med schools dont have.
The extras: lounges, comp labs, library, etc. not too shabby. The food acomadations. Whole Foods and IN N OUT!!! Their gym is better than sc's so I can ditch my gold's membership.

I think the one thing I've learned from undergrad is not to underestimate the value of all the extra accomadations. The housing, food, gym, stores, entertainment, etc. all suck really really bad near SC. It's really sad when we make 10pm night runs to drive from SC to westwood just to hit In N Out cause we have crap. Then you come home to live in your overpriced 1000$ apartment run by a slum lord that should be condemned. The schools never really mention this stuff much but it makes life so much more enjoyable.

My 2 cents. I would like to hear more about some of the nuances of the curriculum, profs, etc. that you can only exp as a student.

Lol! Is this true? It explains a lot. I passed by In N Out the day before the Rose Bowl while this herd of Texas fans (dressed in jerseys) was walking into the restaurant. All of a sudden I heard "Go SC!" from a car at the drive-thru. I was thinking, "You can't say that at UCLA!"
