time off before residency.

Does anyone know how hard it is to take time off before doing your residency? For example to have kids? Can you pick it up again any time or is it really hard to get a residency after a couple of years. Thanks!

It depends on what kind of residency you are seeking. Best bet is to contact programs and ask them about it. It is very program specific.
