I was wondering how much time ya'll get "off" to study for USMLE-I?

I'm entering a debate with admin and I'd like to have all my numbers straight.

I'm @ an osteopathic school (NSUCOM). We're looking at a 3 week Kaplan (M-F 8-4) then 2 weeks of guided study.

Thanks for sharing....

We had about four weeks between the end of second year classes and the beginning of rotations and were required to complete the boards before hitting the wards. Most people, including myself, took just shy of 2 weeks to study and then took a couple weeks of vacation. A minority (perhaps 15%) stretched out their study time to the last possible moment (3.5 weeks).

We had about 4 weeks between end of classes and date we were required to take Step 1 at Tufts. Unless you got an extension from the Dean to take Step 1 after June 15, you got 2 weeks vacation after boards until rotations started.

We got about 6 weeks off between our last exam and the first day of rotations. Most people studied 4-5 weeks and took a vacation after boards.
