Do medical schools give students time off to study for their Step 1 board exams if they are going to take it at the end of their second year? I?ve been to a few places to interview like Baylor that promise you can schedule time off for things like that, but is it standard to give 1-2 months off for people to take their Step 1 at the end of second year?

Here at UAB, we end our second year in the middle of May and have until the end of June to take Step I. That leaves around 6 weeks to cram.

Of course, however, most people take less time than that (generally 5 weeks of studying and 1 week off).
