Timing of Phone Calls/Emails by Attendings

Hey all,

As the interview season has nearly come to an end, I just wanted to see if anyone had advice or experience on the timing of when to have an attending/mentor make a phone call on your behalf at your number one choice? Any input or experience with this would be appreciated. Thx!

IMO, not necessary, but if you have to be at a particular program for a particular reason then it can't hurt. I would think the sooner the better, I know some programs have already made their rank list. Hopefully it's just your top choice and the caller can give some compelling reasons why you want to go there, or give some compelling reasons why they should take you.

What I don't remember is if the programs submit their list before or after the applicants. Would appreciate it if anyone could speak on this. Good luck Apun!
